Event Description:
The First Step workshop assists entrepreneurs in starting down the path to successful business ownership by helping to evaluate business ideas, develop a business plan, and explore financing options. The workshop addresses the key areas to consider in successfully starting and managing a small business and provides entrepreneurs with the tools to assess and minimize risk through research and planning. The workshop focuses on solutions to specific issues confronting people considering starting their own business including: * What unique lifestyle requirements are involved in owning a business * How to assess the feasibility of your business idea * Differences between business organization structures * How to develop a business plan * How to obtain financing * How to market your product or service * The applications and licenses needed to start your company * How to conduct research on your industry, market and competition * Regulations governing a business * Environmental regulation compliance * Other resources that you can use to help you plan and succeed Entrepreneurs who have successfully completed the First Step workshop are then able to schedule a one-on-one meeting with a business consultant to help turn their business ideas into a reality.
