Event Description:
The Waseda University business plan competition business plan will accept local business plan submissions up through October 26, 2008. Of these 50+ submissions, only 5 will be selected for presentation. There is no limit with respect to business type. The business plan selection committee consists of faculty members within the Waseda University Entrepreneurial Research Unit (WERU). The presenters of the winning business plan will receive $10K for seed capital from WERU Investment Inc.

Event Description:
This event is an official tape-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the opening of the Waseda University Incubation Center (WIC). This event will be led by Dr. Katsuhiko Shirai, President of Waseda University and Dr. Takeru Ohe, Professor in the Waseda University Business School and Director of the Incubation Promotion Office. They Keynote speaker will be Mr. Sadahiro Sugita, and official from the Ministry of Economics and Trade Industry, METI. The Waseda University Incubation Center (WIC) provides multi-faceted assistance to Waseda University faculty members and students intent on becoming international entrepreneurs. The goal of the Center is to create new, future-oriented venture businesses and to provide a comprehensive infrastructure made up of Waseda University academic resources and facilities. WIC will provide venture business support, management guidance, consulting, support for capital/fundraising, and support for promoting cooperation with external companies, affiliated companies, government departments and local administrations.

グローバル・アントレプレニアシップ週間 [Global Entrepreneurship Week Japan (GEWJapan)] の一環として、来る11月19日、企業家精神啓発に関する講演会およびビデオクリップコンテスト授賞式が政策研究大学大学院大学で開催されます。 GEWは、2004年にイギリス現首相Gordon Brownの提唱により発足して以来、2007年にはアメリカで「Entrepreneurship Week USA」として開催され、さらに本年からは日本でも11月17日より23日までGEWJapanイベントが開催されます。 11月19日のグローバル・アントレプレナーシップ・ウィーク・ジャパン東京講義シリーズは、来賓アントレプレナーのスピーチ、講演（添付のTentative Programをご参照ください）の他、10月末までに投稿された企業家精神あふれる活動、あるいは企業家的活動を鼓舞し掻き立てる内容で作成された一分間のオリジナルビデオクリップから上位3組の発表および授賞式も行われます。 企業を志す方や講演にご興味のある方々のグローバル・アントレプレナーシップ・ウィーク・ジャパン東京講義シリーズへの参加・聴講を公募しております。 参加ご希望の方は、参加申し込み用紙をご記入の上、10月25日(木)までにファックスまたはメールで下記までお申し込みください。なお、講演会はすべて英語で行われます。 また、応募者が収容人数を超える場合は、抽選での選抜となります。ご参加は、応募用紙をご送付いただき、事前登録完了連絡通知を受け取った方のみとなりますのでご了承下さい。

Event Description:
Mariko Tamura, Managing Director of The Japan Academic Society for Ventures and Entrepreneurs (JASVE) will interview a prestigious Japanese female entrepreneur (TBA) about the trials and tribulations of being a female entrepreneur, while also discussing her great joy in doing what she does. Selected female students will present their “elevator pitches” and receive feedback. A networking event will follow for female students, female alumni and female members of the Japanese business community.
