Event Name: Entrepreneurship workshop

Event Description:
In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week a Free Entrepreneurship Workshop was conducted by Sri Siddhanta Foundation in association with Pidilite India Ltd., to Rural Youth (boys & girls) of Mambakkam and Chengalpattu at Govt Higher Secondary School campus, Mambakkam on 21st November,2008. Thirty five students and rural youth participated in this workshop. The participants were exposed to entrepreneurship skills on Fabric / glass/ Greeting Card & Pot painting and in Candle-making as a part of Learn-2-Earn programme of Sri Siddhanta Foundation for rural youth for their self-development. Candle making assumes significance in view of frequent long duration power cuts in the rural areas. The products are easy to prepare sitting at home. Materials for the training were provided free of cost to the participants by the Foundation.

BYST aims at encouraging young men and women all over Chennai to come up with creative and viable business ideas that could be converted into successful dynamic micro-enterprises. A business idea form will be distributed among the aspiring young men / women entrepreneurs and the best ideas that are viable will be chosen for awards and later support. The Contest will also give a boost to the entrepreneurial culture in Chennai and will promote new business ideas among the youth.
