Barnardo’s is inviting students to take on the ‘onegreenpaperclip’ challenge and help raise vital funds for some of the UK’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Barnardo’s has borrowed the concept of this competition from Kyle MacDonald, who in 2005 decided to trade the red paperclip holding his CV together for a house. The idea of the competition is to start with one green paperclip (green is Barnardo's colour) and then undertake a series of swaps or trades that acquire something of a higher value each time. At the end of the competition, all the items acquired will be sold to raise money for Barnardo's. The competition is launched as part of Enterprise Week 2008, however it will be run throughout the academic year. To find out more, get in touch with Mimi Nguyen at mimi.nguyen@barnardos.org.uk
