SuperGroup is On to Something

As a web design company, it had trouble in the early days finding enough work for all its employees. So rather than lay some people off, the company allowed its employees to use their free time to develop new ideas. This has lead to among other things a wealth of talent and in particular the development of new media- music in particular. Eventually, these talents developed during the employees free time have resulted in new clients won.

Chronicled in the WSJ, last Thursday, Mr Wallace, the young owner of SuperGroup, noted that “granting employees more freedom engenders loyalty and hard work. Employees tend to come in early and go home late”. His business model started out of a desire to keep good talent has resulted in profitable ventures. (more…)

magness.jpgThere is something about being a pioneer in the field of yoga that rails against what we assume entrepreneurs to be. To begin with yoga seems too spiritual to be a field for innovation. It seems so old as to be incapable of being revolutionized. Jason Magness didn’t let any of those views stop him. A Fashion Entrepreneur

cricket.jpgI hate shopping for pants. My Mom actually refused to go jean shopping with me when I was a teenager. Its just that they all fit differently. No pair of jeans is the same length or fit; a size 6 is rarely ever the same size at a different store. As a teenage, I really had no idea what size of pants I wore. Plus, I grew up in small town New England and my pant options were limited with sizing options never exactly right. Why, you ask would I bother to share this?
