SuperGroup a company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia is on to something novel. As a web design company, it had trouble in the early days finding enough work for all its employees. So rather than lay some people off, the company allowed its employees to use their free time to develop new ideas. This has lead to among other things a wealth of talent and in particular the development of new media- music in particular. Eventually, these talents developed during the employees free time have resulted in new clients won.

Chronicled in the WSJ, last Thursday, Mr Wallace, the young owner of SuperGroup, noted that “granting employees more freedom engenders loyalty and hard work. Employees tend to come in early and go home late”. His business model started out of a desire to keep good talent has resulted in profitable ventures. (more…)
