Looking for Mr./Ms. Right?

Really, I want to marry someone who is me; unless he goes by the name Orlando Bloom, has appeared in Lord of Rings and used to date Kate Bosworth– in which case, I’m forgoing all grand ideas and am justing willing to marry him. Think, you could share clothes, never quibble about ideas, forgo all those annoying “what are you feeling conversations” and really just exist in simple harmony. But then, you’d miss out on the fire that sparks from argumentation, from the injection of new ideas and the new and dynamic improvement in your self.

Society and Innovation

triangle12entreinnovation.jpgA recent article, in the Economist, compared London and Paris on a variety of fronts. What struck me as the most interesting was the comparison made between the two countries regarding their societal focuses. Paris, it seems, is focused on preserving the past and does so through the restoration of old buildings, preservation of artifacts, etc. London, on the other hand, was shown as a society who is innovative because the article argued there was less to preserve- no gastronomic tradition, per se, no noteworthy skyline, etc. The article then raised a question that I wish to take up in further detail: “How can you create a desire to innovate when the ambient culture is oriented towards preservation?”

No More Sundance??

From Here to AwesomeI have no idea what goes into the making of a film; although, I’m sure it requires exorbitant amounts of time and energy. Naively, I thought once all that effort was put into the film, people would just buy it and then the film-maker would receive bundles of money. Unfortunately, it appears that that is not the case- filmmakers don’t receive bundles (ever) and movies aren’t just bought……

Can Cupcake Baking Be Entrepreneurial?

Dracula CupcakeAt first, I was skeptical, it’s a mini-cake. Not to mention it comes in a range of colors and designs which make it seem slightly laughable. There is nothing serious about a cupcake.
