MoneyMan takes over the World.

lucian.jpgWhen I was four years old, I picked flowers and watched Little Mermaid videos. Lucian Tarnowski, owner of Brave New Talent, sold apples from his family’s orchard, door to door, to little old ladies. Not only did he sell them, he jacked up the price, found himself driven by turning a profit, and earned the lovely moniker of “Moneyman” from his siblings.

As, he has grown, not much has changed.

Lucian is energetic, charismatic and passionate at a level that only comes from true immersion in a topic you love. He speaks of his job running a bi-national company with an obsession. The work he does is never ending, with long hours and endless pitfalls, yet he speaks of those late nights with vigor and relishes the way his company encapsulates his being.

Lucian knew from an early age he wanted to be an entrepreneur. He wanted to start a business but he didn’t know what business or even in what field. He originally thought he would start a corporate social responsibility firm, yet found out that others in the field were more passionate and more involved in the sector. Their level of passion was something he would not find until he looked into the field of talent recruitment. Once involved, he realized that this world was perfect for him. There was a wide gap between connecting young up and coming talent with top of the line multinational companies; he had the ability to judge good talent and the drive to find companies to connect them.

A savvy entrepreneur, Lucian also realized that his company would be best served by opening up in more than his native London. So he is taking BraveNewTalent.com global by also launching the business in India. Having traveled there many times, he knows the landscape and the way that the culture embraces entrepreneurship. Mr. Tarnowski praises India and sees it as the next great place of innovation, noting that there are tones of new opportunities to be made there. Recalling a quote from Lord Digby Jones, Lucian reminded me that “India is the home of innovation in the 21st century”. Indeed, as his company succeeds he is adding to this statement.

As a young business man, he knows that it is important to be driven and take chances: “dreams aren’t what you have when you are sleeping but dreams are what prevent you from sleeping” he told me. In order to achieve these dreams, he stays focused and believes in himself 100%. After an hour on the phone with Lucian, I too believe in him. His dreams, his motivation, his energy pull you in and indeed, I left the conversation slightly in awe. He is using everything he has to promise his success. In fact, his success is so certain that I think he should drop his birth names altogether and just go by “MoneyMan”.
