Our summer interns have recently trickled into the office– two have started this week. What they have brought with them are fresh ideas, new attitudes and a welcome change of pace. This started me thinking about the value of new faces in all walks of life– especially, in entrepreneurship.

As entrepreneurs, it is so easy to get set in our ways. We have brillant ideas, a great team and we go forth to birth great companies. Sharing these spaces with new people is not always easy— it involves inoculating them with your message, encouraging their excitement and channeling their energy to help with your vision. The result of all this hard work, though, can be a brillant pay off. Not only will they contribute to your mission but they might just revitalize you.

I know that I am feeling refreshed by their new ideas, their energy and their understanding of the Week. So think about it, maybe open up a position for an intern or just share your idea with someone who might otherwise not be aware of what your doing. Who knows what their fresh perspective will lead to….
