Are you lonely?

What is the worst thing about being an entrepreneur? Long hours? Failures? Uncertainty? I’d say its being alone most of the time. The thing with your grand ideas is that they are yours and in your own head. Others aren’t always supportive and frequently they try to bring you down. How do you fight this? I’d say get together with other entrepreneurs, find people in the same space and with the same problems. Where, does one do this you ask? Well, you can do it through our website, our social media groups or you can do it in person, in June, in the city of lovers.

FACE, the French American Conference of Entrepreneurs, connects people. Or to quote the website “is the meeting between French and American entrepreneurs, venture capital and others members of French-american entrepreneurial networks.” The event aims to create conversation, to establish a global approach, and to develop a network of entrepreneurs. There are lots of big names attending the event and a lot of people for you to network with: Kauffman Foundation’s Carl Schramm, LinkedIn Founder Reid Hoffman, Craiglist’s Founder Craig NewMark, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger, US Ambassador to France Craig Stapleton, etc. At a $300 registration fee, the price is well worth the admittance.

I strongly recommend this event to young entrepreneurs already in Paris and for others around Europe who want to attend. Sometimes events like this are where you can find the support needed to launch a new venture, develop relationships with lifelong mentors or inspire others to invest in your big idea. This may be the best business investment you can make—- at the least, you wont be quite so lonely.
