Artsy-Fartsy

Chilren’s ArtToday Global Entrepreneurship Week found a soul mate in the International Child Art Foundation (ICAF). ICAF works to connect youth with art to increase their ability to be innovative and creative- goals which parallel that of the Week. ICAF celebrates youth art through an Art Olympiad held every 4 years, the World Children’s Art Festival, Peace through Art, etc. They urge children from various disciplines and geographic locations to pursue artistic endeavors. In short, ICAF was the first and still the world’s largest organization to unleash the power of children’s creative genius in art. The work these youth are doing is astounding.

We sat down today with Dr. Ashfaq Ishaq who shared enlightening ideas about how the youth revolution in creative enterprise will be the defining force in shaping our future. He discussed the fact that we all need to be encouraged to be risk-takers and that it is important to channel the risk-taking propensity of youth. If you are going to be risk-prone, why not try to take risks in business, in the creative arts, in fashion, instead of through negative risks like drugs?

The thing about entrepreneurship, about art, about music, about film- is that we are each taking risks and breaking down barriers that are swiftly transforming the way that we see society and that society sees us- the under 30 generation. By taking risks, youth are taking a stand. Creative sparks unleash ideas that lead to successful entrepreneurial endeavors. More than that, these sparks break borders, make money and challenge our environment.

The most inspiring part of risk taking is that sometimes when taking risks we see the world in a whole new beautiful way. I know that looking at the art work by these children changed the way that I see the world and they way that I see children’s art.
