Entrepreneurs for the NeXt Generation
Often times when someone says the word entrepreneur we think of small business or dot coms. But the world of entrepreneurship and innovation spans a much larger array of ventures. In a way, entrepreneurship knows no bounds. Yes, in today’s market many entrepreneurs are moving to the internet, selling their goods to billions of people across borders or simply starting the next great social network. But the next great entrepreneurs are not just web based, or are they young computer geniuses. The next generation of entrepreneur is also the extreme sports athlete. It’s the moto-x rider that not only takes his bike off fifty foot jumps but also runs a clothing company. Or the snowboarder that was tired of the up-tight hotels and created his own hotels made and run by snowboarders.
Extreme sport athletes like Cary Hart, Marc Frank Montoya and Izzy and Coco Tihanyiand are giving a new face to the next generation of entrepreneurs. The new entrepreneur doesn’t have to show up to an office everyday in a suit or tie. The business savy is still there despite what clothing is being worn. An entrepreneur is simply someone that has the desire, the drive and the creative ideas to make something new. And everyone has those traits, they just need to realize it. The next generation of entrepreneurs has a new set of role models to look up, the extreme entrepreneurs.

I totally agree with this post. I started www.sackupsports.com, an extreme sports social network, because I felt there was a disconnect between the big companies and the end user, extreme sports participants. I felt like what was needed was a true grassroots community by riders for riders. The feedbackmhas been great.
