How it works:
Speednetworking is a very simple format - anyone can run it and it costs nothing. All you need is a room, a whistle and at least 20 people. When you blow the whistle, everyone has to find someone to talk to. Blow the whistle every 5 minutes and everyone has to talk to someone new.

Start by reading out the Three Golden Rules:

  1. You must speednetwork with people you don't know well or have never met before. No sticking with the person you arrived with or your best buddy!
  2. It's just a bit of fun. Speednetworking is all about sharing ideas and meeting new people. You don't have to just talk about work. Ask each other 'what are your hobbies? 'Your passions'? 'Your wildest dreams?' Talk about anything you like!
  3. No Double Dating. When the whistle blows, you MUST change partners. No clinging to the person you're talking to - keep on moving:.

Keep it simple, or take advantage of today's technology by speednetworking online with people in different parts of the world via webcams and services like Skype. Across the globe, there will be speednetworks in landmark locations. Think Brazil's Copacabana beach, London's Trafalgar Square and Paris' Eiffel Tower.

The real beauty of speednetworking is that anyone can speednetwork anywhere. Whatever gathering or event - be it at schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, cafes, pubs, theatres or football clubs - you can benefit from running a speednetwork.

It's for anyone: high-growth entrepreneurs looking for new markets; aspiring entrepreneurs with the energy and desire to so something yet lacking an idea; people seeking entrepreneurial solutions to any kind of issue, be it global, local or business-specific; educators, media, politicians and global brands. In other words, anybody interested in joining a global movement of entrepreneurial people.

Who can run the most unusual speednetwork or the biggest? What theme or issue might you focus on? What countries can you connect with? What mix of people can you bring together? Or simply include 15 minutes of speednetworking in ANY event you make happen.

"Speednetworking was fun and it broke down communication barriers between our two classes, with students now talking and sharing ideas" Janet Everall, Wakefield College, UK

"I'd say I'm probably a few hundred pounds better off just by attending that one Speednetworking event" Jason Parlour, entrepreneur, UK
